If each of us is the main character in the movie of our life, who are the minor characters? Roommates, colleague, and landlords. Bosses and babysitters. Your Dad’s weird friend. March is dedicated to those people who only have a few lines in your movie. They’re often in the margins, but tonight we’re putting them in the spotlight, if only for a few hours.
More than our achievements, it’s our failures that bring us closer together. We’ve all had moments of exquisite inexperience, where our lack of expertise was more memorable than if we actually got the job done correctly. That’s why April’s theme is “Amateurs.” Bring us your stories of starting out and screwing up. When’s the last time you had to learn something from the ground up? How was your first day at a new job? Tell us of the time you tried something for the first time, without the slightest clue where to start.
